Tools for managing business processes
flexiteBPMS unites Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Process Management Suites (BPMS) to create business adapted IT-supports. BPM is a systematically approach used to improve a company's business processes. BPM provides the business side of a company with theories to describe, visualize and improve their own processes. BPMS provides the business side of a company with tools to design, maintain and improve their own processes.
flexiteBPMS is a set of tools and applications, which are developed to support BPM and enable organizations to better manage their business processes. By providing tools and frameworks for improving business processes, the use of flexiteBPMS secures how the IT-support is developed. It also secures that the IT-support continuously works and fulfills business demands once they are developed.
1. Method
Our dependable method for process modeling is a well documented generic method based on a logical approach. The method focuses on the result of every process and activity where “What” is defined before “How”. It drastically shortens the time from an upcoming need to a delivered solution. The consumption of resources needed when creating an IT-support is minimal due to only needing the business side involved in the delivery. By only involving people with insight in the current process the relevance in the delivered IT-support is secured.
2. Methodology
A simple process model developed in, for example, Visio is enough to be interpreted by a person. For a computer to understand, and to be able to automatize the process, a process model is not enough. It has logical gaps and lacks information. To close the logical gaps and complete the information needed to automatize a process, we have developed a well-documented methodology for creating a complete process design. Our methodology is used to complete the process model with rules for flow, roles, allocating roles and information. Through our well considered questions we know which information about the process that is needed to create a process design without any loose ends.
3. Modeling tool - 2conciliate Business Modeling Tool
While using our method and methodology to describe the process we simultaneously use 2conciliate Business Modeling Tool. 2conciliate Business Modeling Tool is a detached object-oriented modeling tool integrated with flexite. It allows us to design, model and visualize our processes and includes every needed functionality to create a complete process design. The complete process design is then imported directly into flexite or published by the included HTML-generator.
4. Administration tool flexiteCLIENT
To adjust and configure an automatized process we use our administration tool flexiteCLIENT. flexiteCLIENT can be used to develop automatized processes as IT-support from the foundation or to create IT-support from a process design created in 2conciliate Business Modeling Tool. We can develop, test run and adapt our processes and roles can be manned with persons (users). Processes can also be exported and imported in XML-format. Directly from flexiteCLIENT processes is published to be activated as IT-support in flexiteWEB or to be driven as an e-service on a webpage or intranet. The tool is also used for handling ground structure – such as users, organization, authorization and authorization groups – objects, and to create templates for periodical statistic for automatic distribution of process performance data.
5. flexiteDatabase with ready to run Process solutions
With flexiteBPMS comes a configured database ready for use. It is intended to be imported to a SQL or Oracle-server. flexiteDatabase contains a ground structure and process examples ready to run as IT-support or to be used as good examples.
6. Integration tool flexiteDB-link
Many of our clients have the need to integrate flexite with existing systems. flexiteDB-link is an integration motor to create and administer integrations to and from flexiteBPMS, flexiteDatabase and automatized processes. It is used to synchronize users and organization with, for example Microsoft AD, to create connections to external systems and man roles with systems. That means that all external import and export to and from the process is defined by the business.
7. User application flexiteWEB
flexiteWEB is a web-based tool with an End-user interface. This tool is used to work in the process to report, to initiate and to sign activities and for testing the automatized processes. All data reported in flexiteWEB is stored in the database and by using the integrated statistics applications it gives the opportunity to measure and control the processes, i.e. it gives KPI (Key Point Indicators) of the processes.
8. Process exchange with flexiteProcessShare
Many of our customers have become great users of flexite and have created great solutions explicit for their businesses. These processes can be of interest for other users of flexite to take part of for inspiration or for creation of own processes. To answer to this need we have created a portal for our customers to share their processes called flexiteProcessShare. This function is optional for our customers.
